The village Laren became recognised when several well-known artists, like Mauve, settled down in Laren in the early 1900.
Laren is best known for its beautiful location in a large nature reserve. There are endless walking and cycling possiblities.
The village also has an impressive range of beautiful houses, gardens, many with thatched roofs. You will be impressed by the high quality and variety of shopping opportunities, dining or just drinking a cup of coffee or 'biertje' on one of the many beautiful terraces.
